D. Wayne Dworsky has been composing science fiction and horror stories since he was nine years old. He recalls hearing stories of the old country from coal miners who worked the barges along the Monongahela River in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The smoked filled bars gave him a glimpse of how these miners endured their jobs.
From his early twenties he has traveled all over the world in 23 countries and all 50 states in the US. He's hiked the Alps, the Rockies, Adirondacks and the Catskills. In his quest to seek perfection in the cosmos, he's searched the Earth for the most amazing, exotic, beautiful and enduring truths through his science and technology interests, which include Earth science, meteorology, climatology, geology, astronomy, cosmology and mathematics.
He's climbed Grand Teton in Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1983, the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland in 1985 and most of the established technical rock climbing routes in the Shawangunks in New York State from 1982 to 1985. In addition to his daring pursuits, he's an accomplished pilot of more than 18 years.
He's written over 120 professional book reviews, has authored more than 30 feature articles, writes a regular blog and podcasts an Internet radio talk show, Alpha Centauri & Beyond, where he writes the scripts, directs and produces the show. The show talks about science and science literature, science fiction literature and science fiction movies. His vast background in 21 years of teaching mathematics, drafting and tutoring young students to prepare them for the New York State Regents Exams in both mathematics and language arts provides a solid platform that supports his literary work and talk show host endeavors.
